Ins and Outs 2024 to Live More Sustainably

The beginning of 2024 was shocking in Japan, with the earthquake that hit near Ishikawa Prefecture on January 1. We are reminded that natural disasters can hit anytime and we should appreciate having shelter and food. It makes us appreciate simple things.

This year, instead of making a resolution, I made a list of ins and outs.

Table of Contents

In

  • Live mindfully
  • Composting
  • Not wearing makeup
  • Regular physical activities
  • Sustainable traveling
  • Reading
  • Ethical shopping
  • Vintage or second-hand clothings
  • Be satisfied with what I have and not wanting more
  • Spending time with friends and family

Out

  • Buying fast fashion
  • Going on a diet
  • Drinking
  • Regular fish or meat consumption
  • Over consumption
  • Over working
  • Comparing myself with others
  • Toxic relationships

It is mostly the list of things that I have accomplished last year, except for composting. I would love to start doing that this year. I wanted to do more physical activities and reading last year, but didn’t have much time. I worked too much and didn’t have enough time to do other important things, which I would like to change this year.

What is on your list of ins and outs?
