Kyoto Hyoto Shibuya is a refined Japanese restaurant offering Kyoto-style hospitality in the heart of Tokyo. Originally founded in Kyoto—a city known for its love of beef—Hyoto won the hearts of locals with its signature pork dashi shabu-shabu. In December 2019, the brand opened its first Tokyo branch in the newly redeveloped Tokyu Plaza Shibuya (Shibuya Fukuras), bringing Kyoto’s culinary traditions to one of Tokyo’s busiest districts.
The restaurant’s specialty, dashi shabu, features tender, melt-in-your-mouth pork slices swirled in an aromatic, house-made broth and enjoyed with fragrant green onions. With both spacious table seating and private rooms, the restaurant provides a comfortable and serene dining atmosphere.
Kyoto Hyoto Shibuya also offers a full vegan kaiseki course, crafted without any animal-derived ingredients such as eggs, dairy, honey, or gelatin. These dishes bring out the full flavors of vegetables and soy, using techniques unique to Japanese cuisine. Dishes like vegan “meatball” hot pot and plant-based gyudon made with soy meat deliver a satisfying and new kind of dining experience.
The restaurant accommodates guests with dietary restrictions due to allergies or religious reasons by adjusting course meals upon request. Menus are available in English, and the staff can assist in simple English, ensuring international guests feel welcomed and at ease.
